About

J. Schiek is a professional illustrator and graphic novelist currently teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Art at North Idaho College in Coeur D’Alene. J’s illustrative work was recently featured in the New York Times, and his past clients included Revolutionary Spaces, IDW Publishing, Penguin/Random House, Band of Bards, Comix Tribe, A Wave Blue World and Invader Comics. J is currenty hard at work on the third installment of his own graphic novel series, Hush Ronin, slated for publication with Band of Bards in 2024.

A lifelong advocate for higher education, J holds a number of degrees and is intent on helping students of all walks and beliefs achieve their educational and professional goals. J received his Master of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton in January, 2021. Prior to that, he’d held a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Entertainment Art/Animation (also from Cal State Fullerton) and a Bachelors of Biblical Studies Degree from Calvary Chapel Bible College. J blends faith, feeling and no small amount of elbow grease to maintain a robust schedule of page production and teaching.
